The Black Phone Horror
Scott Derrickson's claustrophobic thriller remains effective without requiring a follow-up. Taking place in 1978 Denver, multiple disappearances has rendered the children on edge. The Tammy Faye Biopic
In the battle between God and Mammon, the winner is obvious for greed in Showalter's brilliantly over-the-top biopic of the disgraced TV preacher and her felon spouse. The actor plays the greedy Jim, who states at the beginning, claiming divine approval for wealth. Both individuals begin capitalizing on the American public's Christian beliefs. It's a spectacle of tacky decor, excessive cosmetics and bad faith, though Chastain succeeds to depict Tammy Faye with compassion. Next Tuesday, early morning, Film4
The Spy Mystery
This week's second offering by the same director is a espionage tale as tight similar to the collars worn by Fassbender's intelligence officer.
