While audience feedback for Peacemaker the latest season has been largely positive, with fans and critics praising the performances and plot—even if the big twist in the seventh installment didn't come as a surprise—a particular criticism has intensified throughout the season: decreasing runtime lengths.

Over the past few episodes, audience members have expressed disappointment over the significantly reduced runtimes this season, and it's true, the installments have been progressively briefer. Episode 7, called “Like a Keith in the Night,” ran just 28 minutes (excluding the summary, opening credits, and end credits), making it the shortest episode so far.

You'll be happy to know the upcoming finale is over 57 minutes long.

Peacemaker showrunner and DCU boss Gunn wrote on Threads, replying to a disappointed fan.

Although this is encouraging, it remains unclear exactly how much of the runtime will be actual new footage, free from intro and outro segments, or summaries of past episodes. That said, even if the episode contains all the previously mentioned non-essential content, that still leaves between 45 and 50 minutes for the finale, which is a big upgrade following the previous installment.

The director earlier teased that the finale would not only wrap up Peacemaker but also give a hint towards the direction the greater DCU at large will be moving and act as a kind of precursor for the next Superman movie. Given the cameo of Nicholas Hoult's Lex Luthor from episode 6, fans expect a juicy cameo to cap off the show.

Peacemaker's season conclusion, the eighth episode, is called "The Full Nelson," and we'll just have to wait to see if fans' suspicions are proven correct.
